Cesar and I finished editing and even re-recording some pieces. We ordered the cues and sent all the insert booklet and tray card info to the graphic designer. The soundtrack will consist of a single CD with all of the music for seasons one through three--132 tracks! The cues will all be in MP3 format. We had considered releasing three regular audio CDs. However, EVERYONE who watches THB does so online, so using MP3s seems a universally accessible format and makes it more economical for everyone involved. We can't really call it the "complete" score. We eliminated alternate versions that we'd recorded just to mix it up a bit. Also, we eliminated what we thought were the real clunkers--the really embarassing ones! As soon as we get the artwork/layout, we will have everything printed and online for sale. We will be selling the CDs via John's site, the Powys Media site, and perhaps even Amazon.com later on. Amazon takes a 55% cut, and on a project like this it makes it hard to break even. Maybe later on, though. All the CDs will come with a House Between medallion that can be attached to a key ring or a necklace (also included). A limited number will come in a special hand-made bag, something right out of Astrid's closet. The bags will feature a Mexican indigenous design--consider it Cesar's and my contribution to Astrid's wardrobe. Mateo

So THAT'S what happened to my favorite purse. I thought maybe it had been eaten by dark matter. From one musician to another, RIGHT ON!

That's the spirit! The work we did on THE HOUSE BETWEEN is one significant part of a larger, emerging body of work, tied to the rest of the work all of us have done separately (or together).
This soundtrack is just the physical, commercial artifact. Done up nicely in a jewel case, artwork, and unique packaging. And why not?
Now we just have to get a picture of Astrid wearing that purse...of course, in the REAL Astrid's purse, there would be a cassette tape, not a CD... Hey, that's an idea! A RETRO cassette release! ;D
