I loved the episode. I was especially surprised and happy to see that Craig T. Adams was to make a guest appearance. I have been a fan of the Dr. Madblood TV show for a long, long time. Craig played a host of characters over the years. Two of my favorite (Craig) characters, were "Brain", of course, and "Uncle Felonious". It's wonderful that he was available to bring his professionalism to an episode of "THB". Gosh, I miss you guys on Saturday, late-night TV. John, you wrote, "...there's also a mysterious character in the show without an overtly obvious identity. I know who he is; what he represents. I wonder if the audience will?"Are you referring to Craig T. Adams' character? A character who is only identified in the credits as "Thomas"? The obvious answer, would be that "The House" manifested Thomas Robert Malthus in order to ward off a "Malthusian Catastrophe" due to gross overpopulation. Is the "obvious" answer the correct answer? Or, do I need to put my thinking cap on again?

I'm so glad you enjoyed "Populated." And it sure was nice to have Craig T. Adams visit the house at the end of the universe.
His character is listed in the credits as Thomas. But that's an alias.
He's someone else...

"He's someone else..."Uh oh... I knew in my heart that you wouldn't be going with the obvious. Back to the drawing board. Thanks, John!

I watched "Populated" last night and I got the feeling "Thomas" was a future version of Arlo by the way he was talking to him. Another very good episode!

Thogar!
Welcome to the house at the end of the universe!
I can neither confirm nor deny your speculation at this point; but I like the way you think!

Thanks for the link to the website. I spent a couple of very happy hours there yesterday, after I finally figured out how to get into the manor and access Madblood Theatre.

I shall stay tuned in the hope of finding the truth. He was very encouraging to Arlo, though, as if he was proud of the fact that Arlo was learning how to control the reality, acting either as a mentor, or a nostalgic future self, or both. At least that's what it seemed to me, but what do I know? I bought Betamax.

Hi Thogar, Judging from JKM's comment, you may have just hit the nail on the head as far as "Thomas" being Arlo from another quantum reality. I re-watched the episode and paid more attention to the way "Thomas" was acting. He definitely had an affinity for the kitchen. From the way he was caressing the counter top and was practically mesmerized by the can, he was definitely showing some of the same attributes as our Arlo. Thanks for your insight on this one.

Thanks for backing my guess. I should go back and re-watch the entire series over, especially after reading about so many things picked up by other viewers. I must admit that I didn't even notice "Thomas" caressing the counter top or his interest in the cans, but I'm usually watching after the kids have gone to bed and this old dog gets tired easily (but doesn't sleep very well!!). I hope if I did hit the proverbial nail on the head that I've not spoiled anything. I'm not usually very good at these things, but like the old saying goes, "even a stopped clock is right twice a day."
