JKM, I decided last night that I wanted to re-read the short story, Masked, that you began for the fans last year. I went to the posts, but lo and behold, the story has gone missing. I was looking forward to maybe getting parts 4, 5 and 6 this year? Are we going to get more of the story? Everybody was saying, huh, this can't be the end? We are clamoring for more! ;D I am speaking for everyone when I say, thank you for everything you do! (I don't think anyone will mind)

Hey faninawe,
Thanks for writing! Good question.
"Masked" was a three-part short story (all three parts were available here on the board for a time) that fit between "Mirrored" and "Trashed."
Alas, there were some typos and such in the tale, and I received some complaints about them, so I took the entire story down rather than feature something with mistakes; something that might not reflect well on the quality of the show.
When I get around to novelizing The House Between, it will include "Masked" in it's entirety -- and without typos -- in the correct place/chronology for the show.
I hope that makes sense...
best, JKM

Are you kidding? It makes perfect sense! A novel? Holy mackerel! Thank you for giving me something else to look forward to [ salivating]. You continue to surprise and amaze us. And, the good stuff just keeps coming. How many times have I said, "The book was much better than the movie"? It got to the place where it was a waste of my time to pay to see the movie if I had already read the book. Referring to The House Between, if that turns out to be the case, I don't think I'll be able to stand it! In this case, we will get things in the proper order (imo). We have the opportunity to view the characters and get to know them. Then, when we read the book, we can visualize every character as the story unfolds. As Kim Breeding (Astrid) wrote in reply to Masked (Part I), "It is somewhat creepy to 'hear' words coming out of my mouth that I know I never said...but I can see this episode happening in my mind, as if we really did it..." That is what reading the novel would be like for the rest of us. We would never actually see the characters performing all the scenes in the book; however, we would actually see them in our minds because they are already so familiar to us. It is going to be a tough wait for the novel. I guess I have to ask, may I pre-pre-order an autographed, first edition copy of the book? ;D Thank you, John!
